Sheri Watson began wire-wrapping crystals for fun in 2021 and gave them away as gifts to her friends and family. Soon, people were asking to buy her creations. After an opportunity to introduce her designs at the Brewery Art Walk in Los Angeles in Nov 2022 that was a big success, she is launching her campaign to offer these stunning creations. And thus the beginnings of SheriRocksDesign.
Sheri has worked in Los Angeles as a Set Decoration Buyer for television and films since 1991. A career as a professional ballet dancer in New York, followed by some time spent in the music business preceded her move to California, back in 1991.
She began rock climbing very late in life and her passion for climbing takes her all over the country to climb, but mostly in Joshua Tree, Tahquitz Rock in Idyllwild, Red Rock in Las Vegas, and Yosemite. Long, multi-pitch climbs are her favorites to do, and most of her partners are half her age. But she loves the adventure, fear factor, and sense of accomplishment she gets from climbing.
Having spent many years exploring spiritual, metaphysical, alternative healing modalities, and yoga, connecting with crystals, that carry energetic vibrations and healing energy, is no surprise. Sheri muses, “each stone is completely unique and carries its own signature. That’s what makes them so special. Crystals are carriers of magic.”
Whether playing on big rocks and climbing up to 2100 vertical feet or working with little rocks that sparkle with color both carry millions of years of compression and pressure and erosion to show up the way we see them today.
Sheri explains, “when I climb I go into a meditative state and it’s just me and the rock. When I am wire-wrapping a stone, I find myself in that same meditative state, just me and the energy of the crystal I am working with.
